Concept

The title operates as a refusal of heroic claims for art. The exhibition instead occupies the friction between that refusal and the persistent need to make, gather and look. Individual visual languages meet inside a shared proposition without being forced into a single answer.

A short history

The exhibition opened on 16 August 2019 on the second floor of Centro Cultural Municipal Casa de Pepino in Córdoba. Presented by Espacio Garín, it brought together the practices of Paz Herrera, Nayra Vallejos, Florencia Aravena and Gina Marin, with live music by Gluko Lin. The public programme remained open until 8 September, extending the encounter beyond the opening night.

Artists and authorship

Four practices held in equal relation.

The exhibition was conceived as a shared field rather than a hierarchy: four artistic positions, distinct in material and language, meeting through one collective spatial proposition.

Process and spatial logic

From proposition to public experience.

01

A collective frame

The title established a common tension while leaving room for four distinct practices and visual positions.

02

Works in relation

The exhibition was shaped through proximity: each contribution held its own voice while becoming part of a larger visual conversation.

03

Public identity

The announcement carried the exhibition’s bodily, layered language into the public realm and located the project within a local cultural network.

04

Shared encounter

Visual work, music and the opening programme created a social situation around the exhibition rather than a purely contemplative display.

Moving image record

Exhibition record · bodies, materials and public encounter

An on-site moving-image record that follows the exhibition through its spatial interventions, material details and the presence of the public. Presented as documentation rather than promotion, it preserves the atmosphere and scale of the shared installation.

Selected archive

Archive of a collective situation.

Rather than presenting the exhibition as a sequence of isolated artworks, this archive brings together spatial views, public programming, live music and audience behaviour. The records show how the project operated simultaneously as display, workshop, gathering and shared cultural event.
